Today is the day I tackle heading out of Kyoto, to Shiga. First up is Ginkakuji in Kyoto though.
Took a bus directly to Ginkakuji from the bus terminal in front of Kyoto station.
Why the bus and not walking from Nanzenji? One reason is to conserve energy. The other reason will become evident in the photos that follow.
Part of the sand garden. Looks great.
The panorama for the sand garden will be in a future post in the Hiromi in Kyoto series.
I wonder how to grow them moss…
I like the above photo a lot. You can see that there aren’t any really tall buildings in Kyoto. You can easily see the surrounding mountains from almost any point in Kyoto city which is quite wonderful. Besides the overly tall Kyoto Tower, you can see how it stands out in the Kiyomizu dera post on Day 4.
You exit the way you entered.
Philosopher’s Path next.
Nope no fabulous cherry blossoms, its way past peak period.
You can walk on the road running alongside the path too.
Sitting down for a rest.
Walked through Nanzenji headed for Keage station. It was about lunch time so, back to hotel for lunch and a short rest before heading out to Shiga.
Omi Jingu in Part 2.
